Very nice work man. Lots of effort and time.

I can really appreciate the effort and time you put into this. The characters aren't all that appealing to me, but that's your preference. The body language in your characters is awesome as well. Not many people understand the body language is more important than the facial expression. Oh, and your commentary "making of" was well done.

Fan freakin tastic man

Awesome work Andrew
I'm in complete and utter love with your designs. If this were slightly better animated in parts. The way you animated is fantastic although some of your work could use refining. Your humour is just mind blowing I absolutely love it. I can't express how much this has me creaming myself. Keep us all posted on when you get your own show. Although, I'm sure I'll recognize it when it comes out.

Oh and Matt Wilson's score is awesome as well. Your two styles are a perfect match I'd say. A better mic might be in order for voices though, there are quite a few spots I can't make out what's being said.

Good work and good luck.

Needs work.

It doesn't matter what tool, 2D, 3D, or stop motion . Basic rules of animation apply to everything. I couldn't find one thing to this that developed the character, developed a coherent story or used animation as a story teller. I mean, You even had two ice blocks pass right through each other! The biggest 3D mistake you can make. Don't worry about all the fancy renders. If you want to make great animation, then focus on that.

There was nothing to grab my attention either. Marmotte looks around, starts meditating on an iceblock. immediately cuts to him flipping over an iceblock 'later that day'. bird grabs him. the end.

Coherent stories or jokes can be made that play out in less than 10 seconds. Run your ideas by friends and family and get them to make suggestions. You honestly will become better that way. You can't analyze your own mistakes when you don't know you're making mistakes.

Good luck.

Super-Blackball responds:

that was wave not an iceblock

Attitude Adjustment

You need to learn to grow up. People have opinions for a reason. Don't post your work up if you're afraid of those opinions. Your art is lookin really good and have a confident line, but you're not going to be able to hold a job for any longer than a week or two tops if you treat anyone with less skill like they have no worth. There's no room for an inflated ego in this industry, Mr. Arshad.

Nocturnal-Devil responds:

well maybe you didn't know that these aren't the ones i use for work. these are the ones i draw in my free time just for fun.

Poor animation, Glad you chose a simple style

The foot slip on the walk cycle isn't working. His food slides rather than staying in place when he walks. The rest of the animation is fairly poor but it still gets the message across. Act out what you'd do in that situation in front of a mirror. Note all the little details and mannerisms of the body. Fun concept though. I'm glad it wasn't some sort of epic that only got half finished. I know you can do better. Good luck.

There needs to be more than pretty pictures

You definitely have talent for drawing. Although, without music to keep me occupied this would have been shut off by the time it got to the cat on the post. A film shouldn't occupy time so much as you should experience it.

The big thing for you is that you have artistic ability, but you aren't giving the audience any attention or credit. Watching this, you set everything up for a battle, the title even leans towards the fact we'll see something impressive. Maybe showing some battle moves, character building and interaction... something. In this case you did exactly the opposite. You had a huge build up hinting to an inevitable showdown and you crap out by using the "dust with flying heads and hands" trick. This completely obliterates your long character setup. Try showing the films to your friends, or supporters without music. Music is an important part of your film, but its also biased. If the visuals don't hold up, don't expect the music to. You're losing half of your appeal right there.

This is a long post only because I'm sure you can do better, not because my world is tumbling down. I'd love to see more. Good luck.

Nice effort.

Granted the characters are simple but you don't need complex characters to make something good. it's all in the writing. For this though, you should try for more subtle humour or off the wall completely wierd humour. The sauerkraut was a step in the right direction.

SuperDuck-Spanjj responds:

i liked the sauerkraut too :P yeah i think ill make the humour a bit more random in the next one, thx for the advice :)

Good effort.

Jokes that most people find funny have some degree of sophistication to them, hidden meaning or are just so out there that you can't help but laugh. I knew that there was going to be an edited interview as soon as I heard him interviewing the kid about games. On the other hand, your movie had good sound quality, and had a considerable amount of time put into it. Nice effort, just try and run the jokes by regular people sometime. Right now, I can only see this appealing to people with the mental capacity of a 16 year old.

Could have been something... decent.

The idea of using only shades of green is great. For these kind of collabs, the 'director' needs to be STRICT! I mean, you just let in any 9 year old that knows how to click a mouse. ReNaeNae and cook are the only ones that at the very least used the shades in an appealing form. All the stories/situations sucked. And anyone that makes a fight scene in these collabs, (as much as I like fight scenes) need to be shot dead. They have no imagination whatsoever. If you need inspiration for animations, try reading up on different cultures, mix and match daily happenings. do something ridiculous and make it original at least to your knowledge.

oooo, I soiled myself.
