This is fucking amazing.
I can't get enough and it loops well!
Moar man MOAR!! I want to hear this performed live
Some slip ups here and there but that's not important. The piece itself could have used a few breathers, the pace was continual and flowing but it has an impatient feel to it. That's the nature to improvising though. Great work :)
It's almost impossible, to improvise without some slips, but as you said, thats not that important.
If you claim about no breathers, and the impatient feeling, remember the name of this pierce.
But of course, thank you very much for your good rewiew.
Oh man, so funny.
Just thinking of "What is Love" and "..Machine Gun" together. Hearing this remix, makes me crack up, just the contrast between the songs. You can hear both songs in there so well. Hilarious. I've got a huge smile from this. Damn good job.
Thanks. I'm glad you "got" it. ;)
Right on, cool music man.
Have you looked into using an Orchestral VST? You should look up the Edirol Orchestral VST. It goes as far as settings for specific instruments based on placement within a symphony stage. You should try running your current tracks through that and see how it does for you.
Not to belittle what you made in any way. I read the reply about your samples and thought you might want to check it out.
A few suggestions for the tune, even though you use a wide range of scales and instruments, (quite well) it seems to stay the same pace throughout. A comment I had for someone else as well is that this could use a strong climax as well as a noticable resolution. Whenever it seems like you're about to build tension, it just seems to just keep on going. By the end of it, I have this image of some noble person who can't find anyone to battle.
You seem to change up the key and instruments at but there's no change of tempo, volume, pace or beat. It feels like you had a bit of a "lets add a scale here since I haven't done that yet" approach. The emotional changes need to be accentuated to keep listeners interested. Try looking up Final Fantasy Tactics - Algus' Betrayal. That song has fantastic classical medieval procession with about an equal number of mood changes as your song. Even though it's a loop, it still shows how to accentuate the climactic pieces as well as give the listener a rest to prepare for a tense moment again.
(Jeez, this is a long review) again, good job on it man. Hope to hear more from you.
Interesting suggestions. I haven't really thought about the tempo changes and whatnot. In my view, Battle Music is usually fairly driving.
I triplets in this piece really make you take notice of the song. Good choice on that. my big criticism is to lose the drumbeat all together. I felt like I was in a sun-soaked tree-filled valley just outside a dance club. I didn't know what to make of that really because it was so conflicting. Also, elaborate on the piece more. Try to build music the way you would a movie or story. Bring it to a climax and then resolution. You'll have a much stronger impact overall. Good job :)
Thanks for comments SquidBonk., i did try it without the drumbeat but it sounded a little empty - i take your point though, a build up would improve it.
Even though this song has been out a year and a half, I can't help but comment on the skill, and talent displayed with this. Fantastic work, beautifully played violin!
Fantastic Violin playing
You have fantastic skill on the violin. The MIDI however, doesn't compliment your playing. There are some parts with the midi flute where it holds a certain note that makes me wince.
Again, if you were to play this with only violin, I think this would be much more appealing.
